Technology is shrinking the world!

Posted on Jan 6th, 2008 by Casey : Conscious Marketer Casey
We all know the internet is bringing the world together. I happened to meet a young podcast producer recently that is quickening this process with technological, social, and global implications.

SpanishPod.com is a clean, straightforward site offering free spanish lessons (with a premium paid service as option) for online play or podcasting.

They have tons of content on this site with very relaxed, intimate conversations between talented hosts. There is also a sister-site ChinesePod.com for those so inclined. Podcasts are released daily giving you plenty to practice your skills with so the learning stays fresh in your mind.

This is yet another innovation of the information age that is bringing people closer. Communication is the first barrier to cultural understanding and the more access we have to the interiors of other cultures, the faster we move towards world-centric meaning making, a worldview essential for solving global problems.

As producer of my own podcast at Falling Fruit, this is very exciting for me.

I'm no longer an Entrepreneur.

Well,,,in title anyway.

The term has simply lost all relevance. Everybody I know is entrepreneurial in one way or another, if you're not, you're probably having a hard time getting by in the current career environment.

Casey Capshaw:  Marketer, Producer, Blogger, Friend, Lover, Man-about-town...but not entrepreneur.   When I hear the title Entrepreneur, what I really hear is "I'm trying to start something sucessful on my own, but i'm not there yet."   Nobody cares about that anymore.  Nobody cares that you are risky, stubborn, likely hard to work with, and have yet to bring your vision into reality.

Tell me where you have had successes, however modest.  Tell me what you are passionate about.  Tell me where you are doing the most learning and growth right now.  Don't give me vagaries.

This is largely a semantic critique.  I love the entrepreneurial spirit and the people putting themselves out there, in uncertainty, to do what they belive in.  My point is that that is, or is soon becoming, the default professional state.  The idea of long term employment is retiring with the Boomers.  The once romantic risks taken by the "entrepreneur" are now the default conditions of anyone in information (and most other) professional careers.

I know you are an entrepreneur.  You are your company.  You do your own branding, you do your own promotion for this company, you attract clients, you perform services, and you handle accounting.  Keep on rockin, just don't expect to get a cookie for doing it.

Being an entrepreneur in todays professional, informational environment is a requirement not a unique attribute.

Full Strength clinical trial results!

Posted on Jan 29th, 2008 by Casey : Conscious Marketer Casey
I have been a Full Strength protein meal replacement user for over a year now.  Full Strength has fueled a serious revitalization and strength building training program for me and this program has become a huge part of my life.  I now consider strength training my 'fundamental practice' and nutrition makes that happen.
fullstrength-nutrition-shake

Full Strength was recently used in the most comprehensive meal replacement study yet conducted.  They just released the study results and lets just say, they are favorable.

•83% greater weight loss
•60% greater drop in total fat mass
•65% greater drop in total cholesterol
•50% increase in lean muscle tissue
•44% greater increase in endurance performance

Strength gains and fat losses.  Thats the holy grail of training.   I used to work with the guys over at Phillips Performance.  These guys are passionate and bring decades of experience in training and nutrition to their work.

If you are into feeling good, and building muscle, give the Strength a try.
