Trans-Media Web Applications, the new black.

Posted on Apr 7th, 2007 by Casey : Conscious Marketer Casey
You know I love a good web application.  I have my Obopay for money transfers, my Callwave widget for voicemail, and my Highrise for contact management.  These are all great apps, but they are partial.  They don't talk to each other.

Lucky for me and my tech obsessions, I am noticing an emerging trend among new web apps, Trans-media.

Jott.com takes your voicemail, converts it to email, and sends it to my account.  my phone just started dating my gmail.

Twitter posts simple messages to the web in a micro-blog like fashion.  Sounds interesting right, but do I have to get online and logon to Twitter every-time I want to make an update.  I mean the nature of this short format is to capture more stuff more easily.  Trans-Media.  Twitter will receive input from my phone via text or my Instant messenger.  It will also update me on my friend activity via either medium if i like.

The real power of Trans-Media is that it allows the application to extend further beyond the confines of the browser,,,into my phone, my voice mail, IM, what's next?

When i can get Twitter updates on my wristwatch, we'll know Trans-media has made it big.

Christ getting in shape for the second coming...

Posted on Apr 9th, 2007 by Casey : Conscious Marketer Casey
from The Onion.

HEAVEN—Emerging from a grueling 90 minutes of cardiovascular exercise and light lifting for tone, Son of God Jesus Christ said Monday that He is "definitely on track" to achieve peak fitness condition for the Second Coming.

"If every eye is going to see Me, and all the tribes of earth are going to wail on account of  Me, I think I owe it to them and to Myself to be in the best shape of My life," Christ said. "Right now I'm up to 35 minutes at seven [miles per hour] on the treadmill and benching about 165 [pounds]."  ...more

happy easter!

The Chief Good

I just got the kick-off email from my good friends over at The Chief Good, a new consulting company headed by Steve Frazee of Integral Institute fame.

The Chief Good is a leading-edge consulting firm for conscious business. We offer hands-on consulting services to for-profit organizations looking to make a positive impact in the world.

I like the sound of that!

I had the privilege of working with Steve for several months at Integral Institute.  In addition to his open hearted intention,  the man knows how an organization should work!  I learned more about business in those few months than in the 2 years prior to that time.

I think natural human evolution is leading us to the inevitability of conscious business practices.   In an age of information, nothing can be hidden for long.  When truths about harmful busness practices surface, people take their business elsewhere.

The Chief Good is riding the edge of this wave and introducing a service to help others get there as well.   Happiness through enabling happiness in others.

The idea of the chief good (summum bonum) comes to us from Aristotle who held that happiness (eudaimonia) is the chief good—something we desire for its own sake, the ultimate goal of existence. As a company we strive to help you identify and achieve your chief good.

"The Chief" has been consulting with us here at Phillips Performance much to our delight.  There is a place where vision meets reality, and that place is where things get difficult.  A little guidance from those that have been through it is a lifesaver.

In the age of information, integrity is king.  Companies like The Chief Good are an inspiration.

I'm a twitter-er

Posted on Apr 12th, 2007 by Casey : Conscious Marketer Casey
I had resistance to Twitter for quites some time. Graham English convinced me to give it a shot with his expert mashing techniques. A couple twitter connections and i am hooked. I can follow my (geeky) friends passively throughout the day and hook up with them if something strikes my fancy. It's easy to participate in thanks to Trans-Media integration. Follow me:

If

Posted on Apr 20th, 2007 by Casey : Conscious Marketer Casey
"If"

If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you
But make allowance for their doubting too,
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or being hated, don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise:

If you can dream--and not make dreams your master,
If you can think--and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build 'em up with worn-out tools:

If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breathe a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: "Hold on!"

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with kings--nor lose the common touch,
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you;
If all men count with you, but none too much,
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds' worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And--which is more--you'll be a Man, my son!

By Rudyard Kipling (1865-1936).
