MindBodyGreen - "digg for Lohas"

Posted on Nov 5th, 2007 by Casey : Conscious Marketer Casey
MindBodyGreen

Ryan just tipped me to a new service that uses community to filter LOHAS related content on the web.  Much like Digg, MindBodyGreen users submit stories and the community gives it a pro or con vote, effectively sorting the non-GMO wheat from the proverbial organic chaff.

Wonder if they'll create a "Submit" code we can embed it on Falling Fruit.

Conscious Business features Brian Johnson

Posted on Nov 6th, 2007 by Casey : Conscious Marketer Casey
Last week I announced the launch of the Falling Fruit website and the debut of our first two shows, Conscious Business and Buddhist Geeks.  This week I am thrilled because Brian Johnson, founder of Zaadz, is our featured guest!
ConsciousBusiness

I met Brian over two years ago and he was absolutely glowing with a new idea for a web community to unite people to help the world.  I love the idea(or Brian) immediately and when he emailed me to tell me Zaadz was live i joined immediately.  I have been an active participant in "the Zaadz experience" since then and have met all kinds of amazing folks along the way.

When we started development of the Conscious Business show, it was people like Brain that we had in mind.  Our goal is to share stories like Brians with the world with the intention that inspiration will spread, and more businesses like Think Arete will spring forth from it.

Check out the dialogue with Brian and let me know what you think.  If you have any suggestions of other social entrepreneurs you would like to hear from or you can put me in contact with let me know.

New FallingFruit.tv show: Modern Immortal

Posted on Nov 15th, 2007 by Casey : Conscious Marketer Casey
ModernImmortal 170

Modern Immortal launched today.  This is a fun and irreverent show delving into health issues from an alternative and complementary approach.

I just listened to the first issue and it's totally great.  I tend toward the skeptic stance with pretty much everything.  Eastern medicine is no exception.  Ben and Marco take an easy approach and hold things lightly as they leave no stone unturned regarding human vitality.

Give it a listen.

eConscious, the new way to shop for the holidays

Posted on Nov 19th, 2007 by Casey : Conscious Marketer Casey
"Black Friday" is upon us.  I am sure many people will be thinking of gift giving in the coming weeks.  What if that giving could extend beyond our immediate sphere of influence and also have an impact on a global scale?  There is a way to honor multiple values in the spirit of giving.  eConsciousMarket.com...Giving is the new getting.

Google experimenting with its own "seeds" program

Posted on Nov 30th, 2007 by Casey : Conscious Marketer Casey
Via Tech Crunch

"Google is experimenting with Digg style voting features on search results that allow users to vote up or bury search results they see."

Looks like this is on an individual basis only and not community wide which is a significant difference over the zaadz seeds program(which i am all fo btw.)

googledigg

Funny that they are using a Zaadz-like symbol for the feature.
I wonder if Google users will raise as much fuss as some Zaadz users did.  I doubt it.
