This could get Edwards elected, and reshape the face of the American election process (this cost 0 dollars to produce).  I love it ;)

I've been tagged!

“Five Things You Probably Don't Know About Me” --the meme that is taking Zaadz by storm ;)  The wonderful MaryW tagged me.

So i'll just get right to it.

1)  I grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma, son of a schoolteacher/principal and an Automotive Chemical Sales Manager.  Attended University of Oklahoma with a major in Advertising, minor in Philosophy ;)

2)  At 19 I planned a backpacking trip to Ireland with a friend.  We got buddy passes from my stepdad and headed out via Chicago.  In Chicago we were informed that there was a trade embargo on Buddy pass tickets of a certain kind for all of Europe, I would be allowed to go but my best friend would not.  After some frantic deliberation, i boarded the plane for the Emerald Isle and my buddy returned to Tulsa heartbroken.  I had never really been out of Oklahoma, let alone the US and I was flying to Ireland,,,,by myself!  It was a life changing experience.

3)  "Earn Great money on the Adventure of a lifetime!--Alaska Salmon Fishing"  You saw the ads in your college newspaper,,,I did that.  After hearing a brother of a girlfriends harrowing tales of adventure in the last frontier, i signed up.  "You will hate me every day you are there, but you will love me when you get back home," were his words of advice, he was exactly right.  By far the most challenging employment 'opportunity' I have ever taken advantage of, this one made a man out of me.
Some highlights:
Working 12 hour days for 10 weeks with 1 day off(yes 1,,total)
Working 40 hours straight on opening day culminating with an exhausted fall face first into a boatfull of fish blood and saltwater.
Being accomplice to co-workers buying pot from a kid on a BMX bike and accompanying fellow fisherman to Good Time Charlies local strip joint on said day off.
Piloting a 10 foot skiff out into 12 foot surf  'too see if we can go fish today?'  we made it out, but we didn't fish.
Captaining a crew consisting of a Thology graduate student that rode a motorcyle from new york to be there and a native Alaskan ex-convict that coudn't swim.

4) Lived for a year in a 20 foot RV trailer with a buddy at the base of Keystone Mountain, CO as a ski bum.  I worked 4 nights a week as a shuttle bus driver, skied/boarded every day (almost 100 ski days that season.)  100 yard walk to the ski lift, 100 yard walk to work, 1/2 mile to the gym where we took our showers.  When we got kicked off the Resort because of condo development i spent the summer living in a tent, until the snow started falling and i moved back into a conventional domicile.

5)  Worked in L.A. as Personal Assistant/Coordinator to Mark Burnett, creator of Survivor, Apprentice, Contenter, etc.  Taught his 6 and 10 year olds how to surf.  took care of his cars, houses, blackberries, etc.  Good times.

So to return the favor i am tagging:

Cheers!

Robert Newman History of oil

Satire straight to my heart.  I am not sure about historical truths, in fact, in my experience the entire concept of truth Is shaky at best, especially when speaking of wold events.  What i do have faith in is the simple fact that most of what i am told by figures in authority is at best manipulative and at worst, complete falsification.  Now i will grant a good amount of shadow projection and issues with authority here, but you know what i am talking about ;)
So the point is, our government is not accurately representing the will of the people, given.  The media is not accurately reporting the events taking place in the world, given.  Corporations are not operating in the interest of the individuals they serve, given.

WHAT DO I DO NOW?

I like my MacBook, I like sliding rapidly down the side of a snow covered mountain, I like eating food.

I belive all these things are possible in a sustainable way.  am i naive here?  It seems like we just need to put a little more thought in to it.  I mean 6 billion dollars + waging war for a few barrels of oil and a tougher reputation on the world stage?

ok, ok, i'll stop now, go back to my cofortable, idealistic boulder life.  but i am schemin i tell ya!  I want it to be different.  I can help make that happen.

Pilgrims Progress

Am I young enough to believe in revolution
Am I strong enough to get down on my knees and pray
Am I high enough on the chain of evolution
To respect myself, and my brother and my sister
And perfect myself in my own peculiar way

I get lazy, and forget my obligations
I'd go crazy, if I paid attention all the time
And I want justice, but I'll settle for some mercy
On this Holy Road through the Universal Mind

Am I young enough to believe in revolution
Am I strong enough to get down on my knees and pray
Am I high enough on the chain of evolution
To respect myself, and my brother and my sister
And perfect myself in my own peculiar way

I got lucky, I got everything I wanted
I got happy, there wasn't nothing else to do
And I'd be crazy not to wonder if I'm worthy
Of the part I play in this dream that's coming true

Am I young enough to believe in revolution
Am I strong enough to get down on my knees and pray
Am I high enough on the chain of evolution
To respect myself, and my brother and my sister
And perfect myself in my own peculiar way

As a child, i lived my dreams...

whoa,

Today was my first day experimenting with the Cardio Coach guided exercise audio.  I took advantage of Sean's free offer to zaadsters with admitted skepticism.  I have been an athlete all my life and I know there are no shortcuts to physical fitness.  The Cardio Coach is no shortcut, but more like a rocket booster.
Cardio training indoors is akin to sitting in a cage for me.  I love the mountains and have always 'trained' while having fun riding a biike or sliding a snowboard.  The stationary bike is no comparison.
Enter the Cardio Coach.  This audio offered firm encouragement and just the motivation i needed to kick the gym workout up a notch, a big one.
This thing works like a personal trainer sitting on your shoulder while you sweat.  I have not done 40 minutes of cardio in the gym, well,,,ever.  today i did an intense 40 minutes and never felt my focus drfting.  It seemed like 15 minutes!

you gotta love that runners high.

take advantage of sean's offer and check it out for yourself.

Brain activity provides novel biometric key

Posted on Jan 16th, 2007 by Casey : Conscious Marketer Casey
Eeg-erp
From New Scientist

An electronic security system that identifies people by monitoring the unique pattern of electrical activity within their brain is being tested by European scientists.

This novel biometric system should be difficult to forge, making it suitable for high-security applications, claim the researchers behind it. The system was developed by Dimitrios Tzovaras and colleagues at the Centre for Research and Technology Hellas, in Greece. It uses an established method for measuring activity in the brain, called electroencephalography (EEG).

EEG measurements identify the location and intensity of millisecond-long fluctuations in electrical activity in the brain via electrodes positioned around a person's scalp. This can help neuroscientists understand the function of different brain areas and may also be used to diagnose and monitor neurological conditions such as epilepsy and dementia.

...But what about personal development!!??  If i have a satori will i be denied access to my own secure space?

As we approach the line between interior and exterior, it seems to get a little fuzzy,,,, or grey,,,, or dotted....

I got my iPhone early!

I couldn't wait! i had to have a new iPhone.... so i made my own!  I got an inside track on the specs for the new iPhone and went to work in my lab.  It didn't take as long as i would've thought.  Not sure why the Apple boys and girls are waiting till june.
You'll notice i have added some features Jobs seems to have overlooked.  Flip phone capability for compact size, a third screen for versatility of use, independant operating systems for phone and music functionality(who wants them together anyway?) and i have totally ignored the fancy shmancy touch screen.
Now granted, my iPhone does not have all the capabilities of the model we can expect from Steve Jobs, but it has beat them to the market by a significant margin.

I am available for consultation if any Zaadzters would like to duplicate my efforts.

Zaadz profile: The Aperspectival self

Posted on Jan 21st, 2007 by Casey : Conscious Marketer Casey
Self-portrait
Reading Seth Godin's blog today about Web4 got me thinking about online profiles.  Our profiles are basically a projection of our ideal self into a succinct summary.  We write what we think others we might like would be interested in.  We write about our familiar habits, or our customary summaries of self we have rehearsed at parties or business lunches for years.  How much does this really say about who we are.

The addition of the blog adds a lot to the virtual identity.  What I blog about and how i write tells you a bit about who i am, but this is still limited to a single perspective,,mine.

Pauls eulogy for his grandpa is a beautiful example of true identity, that which is percieved by those you encounter in life.

Rich and i proposed an experiment in which i re-write my personal profile in a different way.  I want each of you to write a short description of who i am.  I will aggregate the results with my own perspective to create my Zaadz profile.

If nothing else, we have a fun thought experiment on our hands.  Until the web4 tools that make this effortless, it is up to the content creators to hack the systems to get what we need from them.

viva!
