Just returned from an small gathering with Don Beck, Cherie Beck, and Christopher Cooke at Naropa. Intended to be a bit larger, the occasion proved quite intimate, with only myself, Kira and and a few others in attendance. What an opportunity to get some one-on-one time with a major force in world change and development. Favorite moment: Beck: "the thing about India is that there is a lot of curry."...curry!!?? "they have drive through elephant washes." so great! He can shift instantly from systems theory to the nuance of lived experience,,truly flesh out the points being made.
Don Beck seemed such a gentle and sincere man, with a genuine appreciation for the world and a wealth of knowledge and experience. His application of Spiral Dynamics and Integral theory in the world is truly inspiring.
Check out the Center for Human Emergence and keep an eye on how SDi might just change the world, through the power of the network and a framework to make sense of it.

Hey Casey,
I once had the chance to see Don in an SDi seminar he gave with our friends from Berlin (http://www.isberlin.de). He was explaining the various memes and all the stuff. Then he said: “Did you know - they have found a substance that will take you right into second tier.” That caught my attention. “What is it, Don? Tell us more about that.” - “It is ' german Schnitzel' ”
:-)
This guy is hilarious…
Hey Casey,
I too am a fan of Beck, and I just posted a Spiral Dynamics Cheat Sheet along with a number of other SDi resources.
I'm just getting settled into Zaadz, and am actually coming out to Boulder with my partner Jen after Christmas to visit and check out the area. We're considering moving there from Maine within the next 4 months or so.
Anyway, check out the check sheet and let me know what you think.
Nice cheat sheet! drop me a line when your coming to Boulder and we'll grab some tea and chat.
Glad you like the cheat sheet, and hope you find it useful.
I'll drop a line again soon – that'd be great. We're going to be in town right after Christmas and on through New Year's and so we'll be looking for some folks to hang out while we're in town to help get a sense of the scene there.
Blessings,
-Kent.
PS: Saw Borat this weekend and wrote up this analysis of it from a SDi lens.
